ROSCOS TRADITIONAL SPANISH DONUTS






INGREDIENTS: 

🔶 1 medium egg
🔶 5 tbsp milk
🔶 5 tbsp sunflower oil
🔶 5 tbsp sugar
🔶 zest of 1 orange
🔶 vanilla
🔶 salt
🔶 8g baking powder
🔶 400g-500g flour
🔶 Frying oil
🔶 icing sugar for coating


STEPS:

🔶 In a bowel, mix egg, sugar, vanilla, salt, milk and oil; (mix for 2-3min)
🔶 Add zest of orange;
🔶 Add the flour and baking powder gradually, measure out the flour and add most of it, stirring well. Add just enough flour to form a dough that is not sticky. Finish mixing with your hands;
🔶 Leave the dough in the fridge 30min;
🔶 Shape the dough with your hands into round strips about 10 to 15 cm long; form each strip into a circle by sealing the tips with a bit of water.
🔶 Heat abundant oil in a frying pan and fry on med-high heat until the fritters have risen and are a nice golden colour;


🔶 Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve immediately plain with coffee or tea.
