Morocco is one of the Arab world country, it is
located in the north western corner of Africa Morocco borders are the Atlantic
ocean, the Mediterranean sea , Mauritania and Algeria .
Moroccan cuisine is among the most diverse in the
world. This diversity is due to Morocco's contact with the various
civilizations of the world. It is
typically a mix of Arabic, Andalusian, Berber and Mediterranean cuisines with a
slight European influence. Moroccan cuisine has international fame. it ranked
the first place as the best cuisine in Arab World and Africa , and the second place
in the world after France.
Morocco’s adventurous cuisine is based on several
ingredients : vegetables, Dried fruits and spices. I used the term
adventurous because you should be adventurer and you have a good tasting sense.
Moroccan food are characterized by the great harmony between sweet and salt
ingredients in the same recipe like Pastilla , beef tajine with dry fruits…
Spices are the main ingredients in Moroccan cuisine. They are what give
Moroccan dishes its distinctive
flavor .popular spices in Moroccan cuisine are: cinnamon,cumin,coriander,saffron, turmeric,
paprika and black pepper.
Common uses:
Cinnamon: Pastilla, harira.
Paprika: basis of many sauces
black pepper: used in most savour dishes.
Another important ingredient is bread. It is sacred
for Moroccan people , it is present in any meal , and few Moroccan food that
don’t need to bread like Pastilla and Couscous .
Finally, I advise anybody to taste Moroccan cuisine. Moroccan dishes are very
delicious contain different ingredients which means they contain various
necessary elements for body , In
addition of dish decoration in a way that opens the appetite and gives pleasure.
